A Sunny Day in London Town

I’m aware that my posts are becoming increasingly photography based, which is not something I intended, but something that I’m enjoying nonetheless…

With that out of the way, I spent a sunny day in London last week with my family wandering along the river and taking some photos. We also went up the Shard to some pretty spectacular views of the city, and watched everybody’s favourite Irish soul musical: The Commitments. (It was really great, I’d recommend!)

I can’t help but feel that it’s time to get a new camera, however. My bridge camera has done me well and is great for being quite portable, and for me to whip out and snap a few shots quickly. The problem is, as my interest in photography grows and I’m discovering more and more opportunities to take photos, I’m finding my little Nikon Coolpix P510 a little inadequate.

What do you think? What SLR cameras would you recommend? Or do you think a Bridge Camera can do the job fine?

I call this one “morose pigeon contemplating the cityscape in black and white”

I really love the layers in this one: the sky, the bridges, the bus, the train, and the river.
