Just when I was beginning to fear that winter had decided to throw caution to the wind and jump forwards a couple of months, today thankfully proved me wrong, and the entire city has been bathing in a glorious autumnal sunshine. With more good weather promised to come, I decided to make the most of it and try to visit all of the outside spaces and attractions that Dresden has to offer before Winter tries to force its way back upon us.
The Großer Garten is, as by its name, a huge expanse of beautiful gardens, with a small Palais in the centre, and the Botanischer Garten and zoo in each corner. I had a lovely time simply wandering around the gardens and enjoying the Autumnal sun and the beautiful light which it brought. Dresden seems to be a very green city, with its residents taking the time to appreciate its outside spaces, and I’m looking forward to seeing where else I can visit while the weather permits.
N.B. I really like lines of trees…It sounds a bit strange but I have so many photos of trees either side of paths – I think I have an obsession with the way the light disperses around them. Anyway, I hope you enjoy the photos. I’ve been having a lot of fun editing them, and trying to find the happy medium between ‘making my terrible photos look a bit better’ and ‘overly-edited terrible Instagram picture’. Hopefully I didn’t do too badly.
